Hoover Dam Half-Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point of your choice in Las Vegas and drive to Boulder City to get close to the famous Hoover Dam. The minibus ride will take approximately 45 minutes.
We'll learn about Boulder City's important involvement in the construction of the Hoover Dam and make brief photo stops from different viewpoints, such as the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Bridge. We'll see the Colorado River and Black Canyon from a vantage point almost 984,2 feet (300 metres) above sea level!
Also as part of this tour, we'll visit the Lake Mead visitor centre to discover the history of the Hoover Dam, which was named after the US President Herbert Hoover. Did you know that it was built in the 1930s at the height of the Great Depression? We'll learn all about the construction process taking in the creation of the dam, designed to prevent flooding as well as its production of hydroelectric power provision of irrigation water.
You'll also learn about the energy importance of this dam, which supplies electricity to almost a million people in Nevada, Arizona and part of California.
After a five-hour tour, we'll end the tour and leave you back at the starting point.
